Password protecting Microsoft Word and Excel documents

Before password protecting any document, you may wish to create a backup of the non-password protected file in case you forget the password in the future.
Users who are creating a Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel document that they wish to keep confidential or to only be viewed by people who should be viewing it may wish to enable a Microsoft Word or Excel password on the file to help protect the contents of the file. Below are the steps required for creating a Microsoft Word or Excel document with a password.
  1. Open Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel and the document you wish to password protect.

  2. Click File

  3. Click Save As

  4. In the Save As window, click the Tools option in the upper right-hand side of the window.

  5. From the Tools drop-down menu, select General Options

  6. This will open a Save window that will allow you to specify a password used to open the file or modify the file.

Password to open - Entering a password for this option will make the file only readable to the users who know the password.
Password to modify - Entering a password for this option will allow users to view the file but only edit and save the file if they know the password. Keep in mind, however, that a user could easily open the file, copy the contents of the file to another file, and modify and create their own document.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011-RELOADED

RELEASE.DATE:1/10/2010
PROTECTION: Securom/Serial
DISC(S): 1
GAME.TYPE: Sports

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 reinvigorates the series with the most advanced set of improved game play additions, control options and to catch up with the evolution of the real-life soccer. Central to its total freedom of play, the game introduces a power bar for each player that allows the user to determine the exact strength and placement of every pass and shot. Balls can now be spread absolutely anywhere with surgical precision, with long balls into space, short passes to feet, and intricate one-twos allowing the player to dictate play and control the tempo of a match.

This freedom of play is also extended via AI routines designed to place every move and decision into the player’s hands. No longer will assisted AI intervene during matches; users will now need to sense and react to threats intuitively as opposed to chasing the ball; and passes will not automatically reach the nearest player. Instead, routines facilitate complete control both of the player and their chosen actions in every respect to give the player sublime control over every movement.

Game Features:
  • Total Control: The PES Production team has enhanced the 360-degree passing ratio, offering unprecedented levels of control over every pass, shot, headed ball, throw-in and through ball. This allows users to pass the ball into space, and move their play with total freedom. Players must precisely weight their passes and second-guess the runs of their teammates and exploit their movement, while lofted through-balls have accuracy.

  • Shot Stamina Gauge: In addition to the generic power gauge, the Shot Stamina meter details the player’s exact level of fitness. Constantly sprinting will affect the player’s movements and will have an adverse affect on his stats, with passes going awry and a loss of pace.

  • Defender AI: Players now also hold their positions naturally, no longer chasing any ball that enters their area; preferring to close down the attacker and force them into a mistake.

  • Animation and Player Physics: The PES Production team has totally reworked every element of in-game animation. These additions will become clear before even kick-off, with the players enjoying fluid, natural movements, with more realistic acceleration and inertia than ever before. The physicality between players is also improved, which was a priority requested in PES forums. Jostling and blocking now looks stunning, while there is a larger variety of convincing tackling styles. Ambient animation also adds to the in-game atmosphere, as players adapt their running and movement styles in line with play.

  • Speed of Play: The new level of control means that the game enjoys a more considered pace of play, which varies dependent on situations. The game will burst into life as counter-attacks come into play, but players can dictate the pace via slow build up or exploiting available space to surge forward. It is harder to make long runs from midfield, and successful play will depend on making quick passes to make room.

  • Improved Goalkeepers: In keeping with the basis of total freedom of movement, players now have more control over their ‘keeper. This greater control allows for quick roll-outs, instinctive saves, pinpoint accuracy with goal kicks, and precision ball distribution to make quicker breaks or playing down the clock easier.

  • Over 100 hours of motion captured footage. Every aspect of player movement has been reworked, with more organic runs, turns, throw-ins, tackles, and interaction. The way players speed up and slow down is also more natural; while replays display elements of motion blur that bring your saved goals to vivid life.

  • Tactics and Strategy: The PES Production team has implemented a ‘Drag and Drop’ mechanism that can be used in every aspect of team management, not just substitutions or formation changes. These settings are also animated to promote better understanding of the plays that have been altered.

  • Feint Settings: The Game allows users to map key skills to a specific control area, making them available via the second stick or via specific button presses, making them more accessible than ever before. Master League Online: Master League will offer a real challenge, as users are invited to try their hand against other managers online. PES 2011 will mark the online debut for its much-loved Master League element, with players bidding against each other for the world’s best players, and attempting to build a squad that can compete with the best against online peers all over the globe.

Table Manager by Blufftop.com

Table Manager software update coming!
The Society of Actuaries has decided that future maintenance of the tables database will make use of the XtbML file format for each table, rather than the binary format used by the Table Manager software, versions 3.0 and prior. To accommodate this direction, version 4.0 of the table manager software is under development with expected release in June 2011. Version 4.0 will include the popular Excel add-in that enables the user to include table values within Excel formulas, obtaining values directly from the database and eliminating the need to copy table values into a worksheet. This same capability has been provided in the Excel add-in version 3.0, but that version works with the older binary format of the database and does not work with XtbML.
The remainder of this page refers to the old version 3.0 of the table manager, which we will continue to make available until version 4.0 is ready for release.
To access the mortality and morbidity tables, you will need to download and install a very easy-to-use table manager software program and its accompanying databases. (If you are currently using Table Manager 2.0, for best results uninstall Table Manager 2.0 and make sure any Table Manager entries have been removed from the registry.)
What's new in version 3.0
Version 3.0 of the table manager program is designed for any 32-bit version of Windows (Windows 95, 98, NT, Me, 2000 or XP). New features in version 3.0 include the ability to filter the list of tables by country of origin and intended usage, and a utility to graphically compare values in two tables. In addition, over one hundred new tables have been added to the database, mostly from outside North America. The new tables are the result of a project recently undertaken by the International Section.
In the past there have been four separate databases for the table manager. With the new ability to filter by country and usage, it is easier for the user to deal with a very large number of tables in one database. Therefore all of the databases have been merged into one.
The binary file format of the database had to be expanded to include the new information on country of origin and intended usage of each table. Version 3.0 is capable of using either the new or old format of database, but any user updates to a database automatically result in conversion to version 3.0 format. There is a utility in the Table Manager to convert a version 3.0 database to version 2.0 format for compatibility with other software if needed.
Table Manager Program
The Table Manager Program version 3.0 is a stand-alone program for viewing, modifying, and creating tables in electronic form. The program comes with its own installation routine. To install, unpack the TM30.ZIP file to a temporary directory and run the setup.exe program. (Note: The setup.exe file appears when tm30.zip is unzipped.) The setup program creates a program group Start Menu for future use.
The install program for version 3.0 includes a copy of the complete tables database. The database is installed in the same directory as the program is installed, and is named TABLES.DAT.
Users of earlier versions of the Table Manager may wish to change their preferences (under the File | Preferences menu) to make the new database load by default at startup. Before that is done, users can load the new database using the File | Select Database. menu item. The name of the selected database should appear in the main title bar of the program window.
Excel Add-in
The Excel add-in provides the capability to manage a database of actuarial tables from within Excel and includes spreadsheet functions to retrieve table values. To install, unzip the file in a directory of your choosing and then use the Excel File Open command to open TABLESDB.XLL. A 32-bit version of Excel is required (Excel Win95 Version 7.0 or higher).
Version 3.0 of the add-in adds the same ability as the stand-alone table manager to filter the list of tables by country and intended usage. Also, a new spreadsheet function has been added to retrieve the name of a table given the table number.
The tables database is not included in TMADDIN3.XIP, so it must be downloaded separately.
Tables Database
The list of all tables in the complete database is in qx_tables.txt, which can be viewed online. The remaining table manager program and its accompanying database are all zipped and must be unzipped with a utility program before using. For instructions on unzipping, click here.
Users are advised to check the published reference given with each table before relying on the values. Many of the tables have not been double-checked.
Discrepancies should be reported to customerservice@soa.org
The Table Manager Program Version 3.0 and the Table Manager Excel Add-in are copyrighted by Steve Strommen, FSA, MAAA, who has provided the software for free distribution by the Society of Actuaries. The accompanying databases are a project of the Computer Science Section, the International Section, and other volunteers. If you need additional background information on published sources for the tables, please contact Jack Luff, SOA Experience Studies Actuary.
